The village is located in the upper reaches of the Yegorlyk River, within the Stavropol Upland, 20 km south of Stavropol.
History
The village was founded in 1794 by the Don Cossacks, natives of the villages of Pyatiizbyanskaya, Esaulovskaya, Tsymlyanskaya and others, who participated in the revolt of 1793-1794 (the Cossacks did not want to move to the Line) and arrived on the Caucasian line under escort. The village was part of the Kuban Cossack regiment.
In 1816, there were 170 houses in Temnolesskaya and 674 men and 727 women lived. In 1825-1826, 100 families were resettled from Temnolesskaya, who, together with the villagers of the village of Nikolaevsky, founded the villages of Nikolaevskaya and Ubezhenskaya on the Kuban River: the population of the village significantly decreased, in 1828 there were 85 households in it. There will be a portage in the forest, along which there is a path. We go along it to the old narrow-gauge railway track. There are abandoned gardens along the canvas. There used to be estates here. Now we go all the time along the old railway track. A good trail is packed along it, but turn onto the skid, i.e. on the old roads, you can’t. Sometimes the canvas will pass through large overgrown glades, but the path is readable along them. From the exit to the railway line to the turn to the trail to the University Falls, approximately 1 hour 10 minutes walk.

The turn to the trail to the waterfall can be slightly overgrown, although literally 10 meters from the turn the trail is well packed. Even if we happen not to notice the turn to the waterfall, then, having walked several tens of meters, we, firstly, will clearly hear the noise of the waterfall, and, secondly, we will see on the left along the course a beam along which water flows. This means that we need to go back and look towards the gully all the time, and we will certainly find a path.
We go down the trail and in 10-15 minutes we are at the University Falls. Its height is approximately 30 meters. At the bottom there is a small lake where you can swim.
To get to the Chinarev waterfall, we return along the path we came on.
After 10 minutes of the course, there will be an inflow on the right, you do not need to turn off on it. In a few minutes, there will be another tributary on the right - this is the Chinareva Balka. We go up the Chinarev stream for about 200 m, and we are at the waterfall. It is very nicely located, like a mossy amphitheater. Its height is about 10 meters.
From the waterfall to the right along the slope, along the path, bypassing the steep rocks, we go out onto the road. We left to the village of Temnolesskaya. You can go along the road in two ways: either bypassing Temnoleskaya along the main road that runs along the Guam ridge, or along the road through the village and Svyatodukhov skete, again along the path along which the route began. There is a third option for this route: descend from the Chinarev waterfall down the stream to the Mezmayka River and further down the Mezmayka.
