The profession is a fitter. Duties of the fitter. All these qualities allow you to fulfill the assigned duties.

Fitter(in construction) - construction worker, specialist in the creation of reinforcement products. The profession is suitable for those who are interested in labor and economy (see the choice of a profession by interest in school subjects).

The emergence of the reinforcement profession was facilitated by technical progress in construction and the production of building materials. The profession has become widespread thanks to the use of reinforced concrete and steel products.

Armatures (from the Latin armatura - weapons, equipment) are auxiliary devices and parts that are not part of the main parts of structures, structures or machines, but ensure their correct operation.

In construction, reinforcement is a steel frame of reinforced concrete structures. Reinforced concrete can be used to make a variety of products, from bridges to sculptures. It is difficult to work with this material, therefore the profession of a fitter is purely male. Reinforced concrete is used in the construction of residential buildings, roads, industrial, sports facilities, etc. Reinforcement workers work with reinforced concrete. They create metal frames that will later be used in reinforced concrete structures. These steel bar frames are poured with concrete, and the result is reinforced concrete.

The main activities of the fitter:

  • stowage of reinforcement in racks, cleaning from rust, sorting by diameters and grades;
  • carrying the reinforcement manually;
  • bending and cutting of reinforcement on manual, mechanical and automatic machines;
  • fastening reinforcement by hand knitting;
  • storage of reinforcement structures;
  • installation of reinforcement from rods, fastening of embedded parts;
  • installation of anchor bolts;
  • assembly and installation of meshes and reinforcing cages;
  • production of bundles of reinforcement from individual wires;
  • reconciliation of installed grids and frames;
  • tension of rebars and bundles of rebars from reinforcement;
  • cutting of reinforcing outlets.

The career of a fitter can start as a handyman, then he will be promoted to a junior specialist, a leading specialist, a foreman. Skilled workers are always in demand, and fitters are no exception. Of course, young professionals will not be offered large salaries. In order to get more, you need to constantly improve your knowledge, raise the category and gain work experience. therefore best deals according to the working conditions, they receive fitters of the 6th category with solid experience.

In construction practice, very complex reinforcement work is sometimes encountered. Therefore, construction sites should have specialists of a narrow profile.

Reinforcing steel usually arrives at the construction site coiled or coiled. The armature operator uncoils and pulls this steel with the help of winches. Then he cuts it with manual and driven machines into pieces of the required size, bends and collects nets from it, constructs frames. When making and installing fittings and reinforcement structures, you need to know and understand what you are doing, be able to read drawings, draw up sketches yourself, be familiar with the experience of the best fitters in the country, apply new working methods, and be able to organize a workplace.

Everything that is created on earth by man (houses, bridges, dams, schools, factory pipes, tunnels) is called engineering structures. In the old days everything engineering structures were made of wood, brick and cut stone. Now they are built from concrete or reinforced concrete. This is more profitable - concrete structures are much cheaper than wood and bricks, and most importantly, they are created in a shorter time. After all, it is clear to everyone that building a house from blocks is much faster than folding it brick by brick.

Reinforced concrete was invented by accident, and not a builder, but a florist who tried to repair flower pots putting on iron hoops and covering them with cement. The result is an unusually strong composition. These are reinforcement reinforced with concrete. Armature - construction of metal rods and wire, which is, as it were, the frame of the product. Concrete is a homogeneous dense mass composed of cement, sand, aggregate, which can be gravel and pebbles of crystalline rocks, and water. This mixture gradually hardens and turns into an artificial stone.

The place of work of a concrete fitter - not only construction site... This can be either a reinforced concrete structure plant, or a special landfill, where reinforced concrete parts are also made. His duties include knitting and welding of reinforced structures. To cut and bend heavy and light fittings, there are special machines that the worker uses. Reinforced concrete acquires special strength if the reinforcement is pre-tensioned, "stressed" before pouring it with concrete. With the help of special jacks and clamps, the fitter creates prestressed reinforcing cages.

But he is not only a reinforcement fitter, he is also a concrete worker. He knows how to make various types of concrete, and there are quite a few of them; knows how to fill blocks with concrete, which is not easy. Concrete work is especially difficult in winter. If the concrete freezes before "setting" occurs, the product will not receive the required strength. Have to apply different ways heating and insulation of reinforced concrete products.

Outdoor work, in bad weather, is often associated with significant physical exertion, so the requirements for health are quite serious here.
