I had a City Bank salary card and a priority pass card with free passes to the business lounge. After moving to another company, I changed banks, but the City Bank card was active with a zero balance and continued to use the Priority Pass card, because there were free passes to the business lounge. I regard this as a deception on the part of the bank in order to accumulate a significant amount of debt and forced lending.

It turns out that money began to be written off not after visiting the gym for the first time, but only after 8 months. I called the bank several times and wrote complaints asking why they didn’t write off the amount from me immediately upon my first visit to the gym; in this case, I would no longer use the card and would not be forced to pay a significant loan and interest. On the phone, each time they gave me different answers, they said that Priority Pass issued an invoice with a delay, after I contacted the Priority Pass organization itself and found out that there could not be a delay of 8 months, the bank stopped offering this version and sent the following answer to the claim: “Please note that for six months we tried to write off funds to pay fees for visiting business lounges. But since there were no funds in the account, we were forced to issue the entire amount of the debt for payment.”

It turns out that the bank itself could not write off money for visits to the hall from an account that had a zero balance; while it was a small amount, the first visit in March cost 1,941. But when the amount accumulated - 42,000, the bank was able to write off the same amount in 1,941 rubles from the same account where there was a zero balance. I regard this as deliberate actions with the aim of deception and obtaining benefits through high interest rates for a forced overdraft. The bank deliberately hid all expenses, I did not receive a single SMS about an attempt to write off funds, and only when the amount became 42,000 they began to write off, and in different payments in accordance with the amounts of the visit. That is, the first SMS about the debit that I received on October 4, 2019 was in the amount of 1,941 rubles. That is, after 8 months they were able to write off this amount, provided that nothing had changed with the card balance and I received an SMS message about this write-off.

They never gave me an answer why, after receiving information from Priority Pass 8 months ago about my visit to the gym, they could not write off this amount, and 8 months later they were able to write off the same amount. Why didn’t I receive a notification about the unsuccessful write-off attempt? They also didn’t answer me. Given that the bank tried to give false explanations for its actions from the very beginning, I regard this as deliberate deception.

Applications to the central bank, Rospotrebnadzor and FAS have already been sent, the next stage is going to court and not a single judge will accept the explanation that 8 months ago you could not write off 1,941 rubles from your account, and then suddenly you were able to.
